They have the power to influence how the education industry meets the demands of learners. In the top 10 list of most powerful languages, 6 are European; English, French, Spanish, Russian, German and Portuguese. The list is based on the overall score from the Power Language Index which considered five opportunities: geography, economy, communication, knowledge and media and diplomacy.
