Eton Institute’s ‘Summer for Change’ Charitable Initiative Concludes With A Successful Mont Blanc Climb:The 3 month awareness campaign that featured various charities in areas such as Education for Children, Poverty and Breast Cancer, concluded after Eton Institute’s CEO successfully reached the Mont Blanc summit on 31st August 2014.

Dubai, 8th September 2014 – Eton Institute, the UAE’s largest training and development provider, set out to make a difference this summer through its ‘Summer for Change’ charitable initiative, and to raise awareness for worthy causes such as children’s right to education, fighting poverty and breast cancer.  Over 100 staff members dedicated more than 1000 hours in preparation for the various activities that brought the community and partner organisations together in aid for local and international charities such as, Friends of Cancer Patients, Save the Children, National Breast Cancer Foundation, Al Noor Center, Care, and many more.

The three month long campaign kicked off in June, with the entire month dedicated to promoting children’s right to education. More than a 100 children enjoyed a fun filled educational concert and received toys at the Al Noor Centre and Latifa Hospital in Dubai and the Special Care Cente in Abu Dhabi.

The month of July was focused on helping fight poverty which brought the Eton Institute community of students and staff together, to collate and distribute over 160 care packages including food and everyday essentials. A grand Iftar dinner was also organised during Ramadan for over 130 labourers in Dubai and free German and Persian courses were offered to refugees and volunteer workers in Vienna, Austria where the Institute has 2 more centres.

The month of August was dedicated to raising funds and awareness for breast cancer. In cooperation with charities such as Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) and Pink Caravan, a free breast cancer awareness workshop on prevention, early detection and treatment was organised and welcomed over 50 women.

More than 200 UAE residents joined a Pink Walk and a charity football tournament organised with the support of Dubai Sports World and Duplays which helped in raising awareness and funds for FOCP.

To cap of the series of activities, Eton Institute’s CEO Dr. Eli Abi Rached, after months of intensive training, successfully reached Mont Blanc summit at 4810m (15,781 Ft) on 31st August, to raise awareness and to support patients suffering from Breast Cancer.

The ‘Summer for Change’ campaign has thus come to an end, however donations can still be made to international charities working relentlessly for social causes.
