How to Get the most out of Your Millennials by Eton Institute

Dubai, 17th February 2014 – In the fast changing professional world, where people are being bombarded with information through multiple media channels and devices, soft skills including personal time management skills are essential for professional success. Constantly receiving information and updates can distract employees from their work, risking of time wasting and lack of results. Controlling this phenomenal flow and selecting relevant information is key to increasing productivity and overall performance, particularly amongst the tech-savvy Millennial generation.
Millennials are people aged between 18 and 34 years, and represent 48% of the population in the Middle East. They are technology educated, fans of social media, confident and determined to quickly occupy a high position in a company. A survey conducted by Bayt.com in February 2014 reveals that 44% of Millenials are employed in large private multinational companies, although the general preference for this group would be to work for the public and government sector. Millenials have a significant need for targeted training to ensure they stay engaged in the workplace. Following the same survey, 54% of under 35s would like to see more training opportunities and occasions to learn new professional skills, admitting this would encourage them to stay loyal to the company.
