To create awareness of the essential etiquette to be observed, Eton Institute is hosting a free workshop on Ramadan Etiquette in commemoration of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Dubai, 11th June 2015 – Around the world, the entire Muslim community observes and celebrates the spirit of Ramadan on the ninth month of the Islamic calendar after sighting of the new crescent moon. The customs of the Holy Month are familiar to its faithful such as fasting and doing charitable work. But what do non-Muslims need to know about Ramadan? Out of the UAE’s estimated 9.3 million population at present, 7.8 million are expatriates. With the increasing number of people from around the world residing in the seven Emirates, more and more people need to be aware of the culture and traditions of their host country.
Eton Institute, a leading international language and professional development training provider, joins the commemoration of the holy season of Ramadan by conducting a free workshop on Ramadan Etiquette. This event will provide the UAE’s multicultural community some relevant insights about the significance of Ramadan and its essential etiquette.
This informative workshop will enable participants to be mindful of the practices, the do’s and don’ts and how to identify and demonstrate appropriate cultural sensitivity in one’s approach during Ramadan,” commented Manon Hazell, Marketing Manager at Eton Institute.
Eton Institute’s Ramadan App is also available which gives practical and useful information of the holy month for everyone who is always on the go, anytime, anywhere. The app includes daily prayer and Iftar timings, mosque locator, cultural tips, Ramadan-related phrases and more. In addition to these, Eton Institute is also offering a free introductory course to those who are interested to learn basic Arabic words, phrases and conversations.
All these initiatives are meant to provide a deeper understanding of the culture and traditions of the region in general, and reflect one of Eton Institute’s main thrusts which is promoting cultural diversity and respect of world cultures, she added.
The free workshop will be held simultaneously in Dubai and Abu Dhabi with the following schedule: Date: June 15, 2015 (Monday) Time: 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Venue: Conference Center, Block 1, Dubai Knowledge Village & Eton Institute – Abu Dhabi, 2nd Floor, TwoFour54 Tower, Park Rotana Complex, Khalifa Park, Abu Dhabi
