25 Sep Building Cultural Bridges: How European Languages Connect People Worldwide
Dubai, 25 September 2017 – Over half of all the people on the planet speak one or more European languages. From their historical influences to the modern drivers of global businesses, these languages connect more people than any other.
Languages hold a valuable part in the formation of a cultures’ identity, shaping the ever-evolving symbols of communication. They have the power to influence how the education industry meets the demands of learners. As a result, they create a sense of belongingness and inter-connectivity amidst varying socio-cultural and political perspectives.
European languages dominate the global stage, increasingly reaching individuals, communities and businesses all over the world. In the top 10 list of most powerful languages, 6 are European; English, French, Spanish, Russian, German and Portuguese. The list is based on the overall score from the Power Language Index which considered five opportunities: geography, economy, communication, knowledge and media and diplomacy.
“By learning languages, you are learning more than the grammar or verb conjugations; you also get immersed in the people’s cultures and lifestyles, which makes learning integrated and holistic. Learning European languages, being diverse and geographically far-reaching, can provide many opportunities and understanding and appreciating one another to become better global citizens,” said Romina Mahtani, CEO at Eton Institute.
In celebration of the European Day of Languages this September, learners can take advantage of up to 50% discount on all European languages. The discounts are also available on Business English, IELTS Preparation, Teacher Training Courses and much more.
